Pueblo County RX Prescription Card

Pueblo County RX Prescription Card

Pueblo County Commissioners have announced a partnership through the National Association of Counties to offer prescription drug benefits to be administered through CVS Caremark Corp.

Commissioner John Cordova said “this is for everybody”. The plan is not an insurance plan but can be used by all Pueblo County residents whether they have insurance or not. It’s reported that many households do not have any or very limited prescription coverage with their health insurance plans. This program will allow anyone to receive an average of 22% off the regular retail price of prescription drugs that are not covered by any insurance plan. It’s been reported that all pharmacies in Pueblo County have agree to offer this discount. The discount is also offered by most major chains.

There are no restrictions and limits on how many times you can use the card. All commonly prescribed prescription medicine is included – both brand and generic.  The plan also offers discounts on prescriptions through veterinarians for medicines that are used by people.  The plan also provides for discounts on some diabetic supplies.

Please note however, that this plan is not insurance.

For more information you can logon to the caremark website at caremark.com/naco.

Budget Costs Have Many Feeling the Pinch

Posted by admin on February 6th, 2010 under Government Tags:  •  Comments Off

Pueblo County workers and parents, students and staff of Pueblo’s School District 70 are feeling the bite of the recession.

Pueblo County is simply short of money. As a belt tightening matter, Commissioner Anthony Nunez has suggested that the counties employees take a furlough one day a month to save the county some money. Union members from the AFSCME (American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees Union), packed the council meeting room on February 2nd at the Pueblo West Metro District vowing to fight the idea.

Sharon Bonner, the director of the Counties Business Office and President of the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees Union, told council members on Tuesday that “We’ve decided to form a citizens commission to explore alternative ways to save money.”

Pueblo County School District 70 is also feeling the pinch with an expected shortfall of roughly $5 million of money from the district budget. In on-going discussions the board has proposed all kinds of ideas. Closing or consolidating schools, cutting out or outsourcing transportation, going to a 4 day school week, wage freezes and even outsourcing janitorial services have been discussed. At this time nothing has been decided upon.

New Site Design

In October 1996 Puebloonline.com was first brought onto the internet to provide a place where local businesses could display their business cards. A business card directory of sorts.

Over the years we have had countless tens of thousands of visitors to our website each and every year. And yet, we’ve let the site go without updating it, simply because we have been busy helping businesses create a web presence on the Internet through our company Computer Images of Pueblo.

We’ll that’s about to change. We hope you like our new design… I’m sure it will change over time as I plan on keeping the site updated. Sign up for our RSS feed so you can stay notified of new additions to our website.
